New Student Programs newest tradition begins with our first annual Crimson Winter Welcome. Taking inspiration from Camp Crimson, a long-standing OU tradition, Crimson Winter Welcome will be an orientation experience designed to welcome students joining the University of Oklahoma in January.
Crimson Winter Welcome is a 2-day experience where students can expect to connect with peers as well as meet current students, staff, and faculty. There will be informational sessions and engaging activities that will help students explore campus, build a community, and start their year off right!

We recognize that the welcome experience/transition experience for students joining during the spring semester is condensed or event non-existent in some respects. Crimson Winter Welcome aims to provide students with the opportunity to build connections and develop a support system, so they feel prepared to take on life at the University of Oklahoma!
Our camp activities are designed to teach students about college expectations, the OU campus, OU's history and traditions, how to get involved and many other things that will help ease their transition to OU. This information will set students up for success in their college journey.

All students that are interested in participating in Crimson Winter Welcome will need to complete our registration form that is linked at the top of this page.

Yes! We would love to have every incoming student participate in Crimson Winter Welcome. You will let us know on the registration form that you are living off-campus, and the start/end times for both days allow for travel time.
The cost of Crimson Winter Welcome will cover your meals during the program as well as the cost of our staff and any supplies needed to make the program happen.
Guidebook is an app that we use for the Crimson Winter Welcome schedule. You will be able to download the schedule for Crimson Winter Welcome starting January 2nd!
No, Crimson Winter Welcome is an optional program, but we encourage all students to participate to connect with peers, learn more about OU, and get ready for the semester ahead.
