Innovation Through Partnerships

Oklahoma's aerospace and defense industries are rapidly expanding, significantly contributing to national defense in technology, supply chain optimization, and sustainable energy. Within Oklahoma University, and through the Office of Vice President for Research and Partnerships, the Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Innovation Institute (OADII) enhances research by aligning with U.S. Government needs and focuses on Spectrum Dominance, Sustainment and Modernization Resiliency, Cyberspace and Information Dominance, and International Security Policy. OADII collaborates with various entities to drive technological advancements, commercialize OU-created intellectual property, and support economic and workforce development. The institute's partnerships and research efforts are crucial for maintaining a strategic advantage and ensuring national security.

2022 Symposium.

The inaugural OU defense symposium featured a full day of discussion, including keynotes and panels on topics such as climate security, security implications of emerging technologies, warfare in the era of social media and Sino-Russia relations - implications on U.S. security.

University of Oklahoma Joins International UAS Consortium

OU is the newest member of the Mississippi State University-led Alliance for Systems Safety of UAS through Research Excellence, an elite group of universities working on the safe integration of unmanned aircraft systems, or drones, into the national airspace.
