In celebration of Black History Month, we recognize a few of the exceptional researchers who are making a difference at the University of Oklahoma and beyond.
Karlos K. Hill is an associate professor and chair of the Clara Luper Department of African and African American Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma. He is a community-engaged scholar and historian of racial histories and their present-day implications.
Te’a Williams is a President’s Community Scholar, McNair Scholar and a senior majoring in international studies and criminology. Her research explores “how racism and cultural oppression contributes to the exploitation of the inordinate number of Black and brown bodies pushed into the commercial sex trade.”
