NORMAN, OKLA. – The University of Oklahoma has become a member of the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute, a national network that solves the biggest challenges facing cybersecurity in the U.S. manufacturing and supply chain industries.
Membership in CyManII, coordinated through OU’s Data Institute for Societal Challenges, Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Innovation Institute and Gallogly College of Engineering, grants OU researchers access to the nation’s most advanced national laboratories in advanced manufacturing and cybersecurity – Idaho National Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories – and state-of-the-art equipment, software and facility infrastructure to test next-generation technologies.
“OU’s work in secure advanced additive manufacturing and supply chains will be accelerated through this partnership with CyManII researchers,” said David Ebert, director of the Data Institute for Societal Challenges. “This is also a great opportunity to expand our collaboration network and impact nationally.”
OU manufacturing and supply chain experts can design and test state-of-the-art curricula and participate in intellectual property-protected projects that define, test and integrate technologies.
CyManII membership also grants the university early access to the next generation of cyber-literate talent, advanced first-hand briefings on key technological breakthroughs and advanced access to intellectual property and options for accelerated implementation into current platforms.
This partnership will allow the University of Oklahoma to expand on its already established programs of supply chain resiliency, global cybersecurity and defense initiatives, and artificial intelligence advancements.

Thanh Bui, M.D., an associate professor in the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and member of the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center, is leading an effort to reduce rates of cancer illness and death of tobacco users with HIV in Laos.
The Book Bundle Project, administered by Reach Out and Read and sponsored by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, has allowed pediatricians to share the importance of early reading with parents and caregivers.
Eight proposals have been funded by the Strategic Equipment Investment Program from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships. Equipment purchased under this program is expected to advance research and creative activities at the University of Oklahoma.
