NORMAN, OKLA. – Members of the University of Oklahoma’s Class of 2023 are commemorating their time at OU by supporting three campus causes with this year’s class gift.
The class raised more than $11,000, surpassing its initial goal of $10,000, for the OU Food Pantry, Relay for Life and Miracle Mindset
Each year, OU’s senior class sponsors a class gift to benefit part of campus and express their gratitude to the university. This year’s gift will provide resources for students, faculty and staff facing food insecurity; support Relay for Life, OU’s annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society; and offer scholarships for first-generation, low-income high school students through Miracle Mindset.
The 2023 Class Gift Committee, led by student chair Sarah Carson, helped select this year’s three gift recipients.
“My team and I have loved being able to help raise money for Miracle Mindset, OU Relay for Life and the OU Food Pantry,” Carson said. “The turnout was amazing, and I want to thank everyone who donated and helped these OU communities.”
Since 1906, each OU class has left behind a unique gift to the campus, creating beloved campus landmarks such as the Cherokee Gothic arches, the Spoonholder, the Reflecting Pool at The Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and the Union Plaza of Oklahoma Memorial Union.
