The Henderson Scholars Program does not seek out one specific student profile in our Scholar Selection. We value that each student scholar in the program differs in their backgrounds, lived experiences, identities, academic interests, extracurricular passions, and service/advocacy work.

HSP is open to all incoming, admitted first-year students who demonstrate an ability to meet the program's goals.

In order to be eligible, you have to have 2 (minimum GPA & Leadership & Community Service essay) + 1 (any of the following in the 3rd criteria).

1. Have a minimum 3.25 GPA out of a 4.0 scale
2. Complete the Leadership & Community Service essay in the OU common applications.
3. Demonstrate any of the following:
   1. U.S. Citizens, permanent residents, and undocumented or DACA students living in the U.S.
   2. First-Generation College Students
   3. Willing to be challenged, be uncomfortable, and grow through experiences - personally, academically, and professionally
   4. Dedicated to serving and building inclusive communities on and off-campus
   5. An awareness and understanding of cultural competency
   6. Illustrates a love of learning and service
   7. Commitment to a purpose/cause outside of their own self-interest
   8. Dedicated to participating and contributing to our program as a part of their experience at the University of Oklahoma.
