Anna Hyslop has been named a 2024 Udall Scholar. The Udall recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate a commitment to careers related to the environment or to Native American public policy or health care.

Anna is a double major junior completing a degree in International Studies and Pre-Law. After graduation she plans to attend law school before beginning a career focused on environmental sustainability.

During her time at OU, Hyslop has kept busy by founding Students for Local Action. The student organization is the first student-led interest group dedicated to climate action at the University of Oklahoma. She currently serves as president.

The Udall Foundation's programs promote leadership, education, and conflict resolution in the areas of environment, public lands, and natural resources in order to strengthen Native nations, assist federal agencies and others to resolve environmental conflicts, and to encourage the continued use and appreciation of our nation's rich resources.

Emily Black a Psychology junior and fellow Honors student Savannah Slayton, a Political Science junior were both named finalists for 2024.

Anna joins recent OU Udall recipients, including Taylor Broadbent (2022), Kamryn Yanchick (2021), and Maya Henderson (2019).

Congratulations, Anna!
