Professional Ethics Training

OU Graduate College Professional Ethics Training Responsible Conduct of Research Program

All graduate assistants (GRAs and GTAs) beginning Fall 2010 who wish to receive the Qualifying Graduate Assistant tuition waiver must complete a two-day Professional Ethics Training-Responsible Conduct of Research (PET-RCR) workshop. This requirement applies to any new graduate student who began his/her degree program starting Fall 2010.

  • Students are encouraged to complete the training as early as possible but must complete the training before the start of the third semester of enrollment. 
  • Those who do not complete the training may continue to serve as a graduate assistant but will not be eligible for tuition waivers.

Training Dates

Fall 2019

  • August 7 & 8
  • August 14 & 15
  • September - November, dates will be announced in early June, 2019

 

Spring 2019

  • Please check back in early June 2019 for the full 2019-2020 training calendar

Registration and Cancellation Policies

  • The training sessions are two consecutive days, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30-5:00 p.m. each day.
  • If a date is not listed in the drop down menu of the registration form linked below, the session is already full.
  • Dates are tentative and subject to change. 
  • If the session is full and you need to complete the training in the current semester, email Professional Ethics Training at prof.ethics.training@ou.edu to request a place on the waiting list. Note in the email your preferred session date along with your name and student ID number.  
  • When spring sessions are full, graduate assistants who need to complete the training before their third semester can satisfy the requirement by completing one of the August or September trainings. 
  • Students must contact the Graduate College at least three full working days before the start of the first day’s training in order to cancel registration. 
  • Any student failing to contact the Graduate College before the cancellation deadline will have the $150 training fee applied to his/her Bursar account.
