Armand McCoy, advertising instructor and executive director of Lindsey + Asp at Gaylord College, has been elected vice chair of the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National Education Executive Council (NEEC). Since fall 2022, McCoy has been actively involved with the NEEC, which focuses on enhancing advertising curricula and fostering collaboration between educators and industry leaders.
The NEEC is responsible for advancing the interests of advertising students and promoting stronger ties between faculty, students, and advertising professionals. The council also reviews advertising and communications curricula to ensure the content remains relevant and meaningful for students pursuing careers in advertising. Additionally, the NEEC oversees key programs such as the AAF’s student conference on advertising, academic webinars and the National Student Advertising Competition, among other initiatives. It is composed of educators from across the AAF's 15 districts.
"Throughout my career, I’ve been deeply involved with the AAF, from my early days with Ad2 (AAF's young professional organization) to my recent term as president of AAF Oklahoma, where I now serve as chairman," McCoy said. "This new role with the NEEC and AAF nationally will allow me to leverage these connections to create more opportunities for our students and faculty."
After serving a two-year term as vice chair, McCoy will assume the role of chair, which includes a seat on the AAF National Board of Directors and a position on the AAF Executive Committee.
