Noah Bryan is a creative media production junior with a minor in digital marketing from Broken Arrow, OK. Bryan has experience with Prarie Surf Studios as an intern and Gaylord College as a communication student area assistant and in Sooner Sports Pad as the director. Throughout his time at Gaylord, Bryan is looking to grow and develop his professional skills.

Strategy and an eye for creativity on News9 and News On 6 comes from Ryan Welton, director of digital content for Griffin Media. Welton graduated from Gaylord in 1992 with a bachelor’s in Journalism and Public Relations and a minor in Spanish. Recently we heard about Welton’s journey after graduation, advice for graduates and current students, and his association with JayMac.

Interestingly, I almost went to OSU instead of OU. I was set and excited to attend until my mom pushed me to tour OU. I have talked about being a Sooner since I was a kid, but I thought it was too far out of reach. I toured the university and knew I needed to be here.
On May 13, Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2023 during convocation at the McCasland Field House.
As Sooner football got ready for its spring game, Gaylord students kicked into full gear, preparing for not only the game, but the Kyler Murray Heisman statue reveal. There were many ways Gaylord students got involved in Sooner sports, from on-campus to internships outside the university.
The Lumine Lifetime Achievement Award is an award designed by Gaylord College to honor extraordinary women professionals in the media industry. This year’s award was given to Sharon Miller, an Oklahoma director, screenwriter, editor and producer.

Yesterday, Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication hosted convocation to celebrate the class of 2022 for completing their journey at the University of Oklahoma. Hosted at McCasland Field House on the Norman campus of the University of Oklahoma, the ceremony celebrated 68 undergraduates and 21 graduates – 18 of which completed Gaylord College’s online masters program.
With each graduating class, Gaylord College takes the unique opportunity to holistically assess students on their academic success during their time in the college and receive first-hand feedback on strong suits and weaknesses of the curriculum and programming Gaylord has to offer. Known as the Gaylord Assessment, students are directed to three distinct variables during the semester of the senior capstone course: an e-portfolio, a learning assessment and an exit survey.
On Oct. 25, friends and students of Gaylord College gathered at the Switzer Center for an evening with some of the brightest women in OU Athletics. The event was put on by Gaylord Women in Sports, an organization in its inaugural year in the college.
An acceptance box is the beginning of the journey for each and every student at the University of Oklahoma, since 2020, a personalized acceptance box is the beginning of the journey for many students joining the Gaylord Family.
To close out the month of August, Gaylord College hosted their twice-annual Involvement Fair to welcome in the newest cohort of students and highlight many of the Gaylord-specific clubs, organizations and practicums.
