This field trip includes a guided pre-flight inspection of OU training aircraft and hands-on science lessons and demonstrations.
Your students will receive a toy airplane that they will label with "parts of the plane" terminology while learning a bit about the control surfaces of an airplane as well as how aircraft achieve flight through Bernoulli’s Principle and the Four Forces of Flight.
Take home items include the toy airplane and Four Forces activity toys.
This field trip features rocket science where students build and launch a model rocket! Newton’s Laws of motion will be explored as we watch the rockets soar into the atmosphere.
Students will participate in a pre-flight inspection of a Piper Warrior and then label their own toy airplane to reinforce the vocabulary learned. Interactive science demonstrations will help the student understand how lift, thrust, weight and drag affects everything that flies. Bernoulli’s Principle activities will reinforce the fluid dynamics that airfoils use to achieve lift.
Take home items include rocket, airplane, and four forces activity toys.
