Fine Arts Student Emergency Fund

With your help, we can make a difference!

The Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts offers the largest and most comprehensive fine arts program in the state of Oklahoma. We are immensely proud of our students, and ask that you join us in assisting them with a helping hand through the newly established Fine Arts Student Emergency Fund.

The Fine Arts Student Emergency Fund is being created to address unexpected real-life events in which students may find themselves. Personal emergencies, such as not being able to afford to put gas in their car, pay their electric bill or visit family after an immediate family tragedy can have extreme implications impacting the ability for an otherwise successful student to graduate. Your help means quick response funds can be awarded and, unlike a loan, do not need to be repaid.

Fine Arts students don’t just need books and pencils to complete their education. They also have to supply their own art materials, repairs and maintenance to their instruments, and purchase rehearsal clothing and shoes. Many of our students find part-time jobs, working around their daytime and evening rehearsal or studio schedules. Any unexpected expense or event could have life-altering consequences.

Without financial assistance from our college and supporters like you, some of our students would have to drop out of school.

Student Emergency Fund stats 2

This fund provides prompt, essential resources to students in extreme financial hardship. Most recently, we had a student living in their car because they were unable to pay their rent. The demands on a fine art student’s time is extremely cumbersome, so in many cases, finding time to work even a few hours working at minimum wage is nearly impossible.

Without financial assistance from our college, some of our students would have to drop out of school.
