Andrea Johnson is currently a candidate for the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Pedagogy degree at the University of Oklahoma, where she is Instructor of Piano Pedagogy and a student of Dr. Jane Magrath. Recent performances include Portland, Eugene and Monmouth, Oregon, Pullman, Washington and Norman, Oklahoma. Research interests include application of character development in professional acting to solo piano performance. Additional research topics include body mapping for pianists. Most recently, she presented at the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association 2018 State Conference. She is the recipient of several awards and scholarships including the Provost’s 2017 Graduate Teaching Award, Bambas Piano Scholarship and Dorothy Kendall Memorial Scholarship.
