Undergraduate Auditions & Admissions
Applying to the OU School of Music is a 2-step process. To apply for any undergraduate music degree program, students must first apply to OU online. In order to receive University Academic Scholarships, you must complete this application by December 15.
Auditions
Once you have applied to OU, click the button below to register to audition with the OU School of Music. Students who complete auditions by March 2 will receive priority for music scholarships.
Audition Dates
The Music Audition Day experience is an exciting, information-packed day on campus designed to provide all prospective music majors with the opportunity to:
- Visit campus and learn about the collegiate experience at OU.
- Audition for:
- Admission to the School of Music
- Scholarship consideration from all School of Music scholarship sources.
Undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to audition on one of the audition dates listed below. If a student is unable to make any of the audition dates, it may be possible to make other arrangements with the appropriate professor.
We highly recommend that you select one of our formal Audition Day dates, as they are designed to provide all prospective music majors/minors and their parents with invaluable opportunities to meet current students and faculty members, to learn about our program and the majors we offer, and to visit campus and learn about the collegiate experience at OU (view example schedule).
Audition registrations are due 2 weeks prior to the chosen audition date. You will be notified of your audition time approximately one week prior.

Applications to the School of Music are due 2 weeks prior your audition date. Audition times will be scheduled approximately one week prior to your selected audition date.

Additional OU Resources
Scholarship, Cost, & Financial Aid
Undergraduate scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis at the entrance audition. Scholarship auditions for the following academic year should be completed by March 2, preferably on an "audition day". Assistance for those auditioning after March 2 will be awarded on a "funds available" basis only. To ensure the best chance for full scholarship consideration audition on or before this date.
Note: Many School of Music students also qualify for academic scholarships, general scholarships, and need based aid. Be sure you get all of the assistance for which you qualify, by visiting the Financial Aid website.

Undergraduate piano students are encouraged to audition on the main school-wide audition dates listed above. If piano students are unable to make those dates, they may also audition on the alternate dates listed below by emailing Dr. Igor Lipinski or Dr. Jeongwon Ham at least 3-4 weeks prior to the desired audition date.
Students are encouraged to audition in person. However, taped auditions from out-of-state students will be accepted until May 1.
