Curriculum and research have been deeply important on all fronts since day one, however since 2016 we focused on developing in the things we could do with minimal to no support through execution. As we have elevated we continuously expand our reach and impacts across OU and the region.
Esports curriculum and research is coming to OU across a multitude of disciplines and interests and we'll be a hub to point to the various programs that spin up moving forward to help direct traffic and support for the growing topic on campus.
Our mentality with fostering impactful curriculum is to augment preexisting disciplines versus creating new from scratch concepts because many skillsets in the gaming and esports industries can still be deeply tied to legacy discipline structures coupled with some evolution of courses in preexisting tracks. This will add value back to alumni, further bolster programs that already exist today, and modernize long standing colleges with new expansions to their solid foundations.
Check back periodically for more details as they develop and become available!
