Dr. Jennifer Koch is an Associate Professor of Geography and Environmental Sustainability and an Affiliate with the South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center. In her role as Associate Research Director with the Data Institute for Societal Challenges (DISC), she serves as DISC contact for the Environment, Energy, and Sustainability strategic vertical. She regularly visits OU departments/schools and affiliated research institutes and programs to introduce the resources and support provided by DISC and opportunities to engage with DISC. Koch also frequently meets with individual researchers and scholars to learn about their interests and encourage integration and networking across OU. She participates in and serves as mentor for DISC seed-funded projects and supports proposal development efforts as needed and requested. Dr. Koch works with the Center for Faculty Excellence to create a repository of sample documents for proposal development. She also started a group on Environmental Systems Science that meets on a semi-regular basis to discuss research ideas and connect ongoing environmental systems science research efforts across OU. Koch’s research uses integrated modeling approaches to analyze the spatio-temporal dynamics of socio-environmental systems.
