Sooner Weekend: Dancing with the Stars, Art Walk, Men’s Basketball & More

#SoonerWknd: Dancing with the Stars, Art Walk, Men’s Basketball & More

Let your creative side come forward, your Sooner spirit take over and enjoy it all with the people you love – all in one weekend.

*Feb. 11-14

1. University Theatre's 'The Trojan Women'

Experience a classic as OU students take part in a well-known tragedian play. The Helmerich School of Drama presents “The Trojan Women," which highlights Euripides' account on the effects of the Trojan War and the women who were able to survive it. The production is located at Weitzenhoffer Theatre. Buy your tickets here.

2. Men’s Basketball Battle

You don’t want to miss this game, especially since the College Game Day crew will be in attendance. It’s that time again; your No. 3 Sooners are back at the Lloyd Noble Center to face the blue bloods of college basketball, the No. 6 Kansas Jayhawks. This year, our basketball team has overcome several odds and sold out many games because of the intense excitement! Join the Sooner Nation to cheer them on to victory this Saturday.

3. UPB Dancing with the Stars

Channel your inner Julianne Hough and get ready to dance. In UPB’s “Dancing with the Stars,” OU faculty and staff aim to get connected with students. Familiar faces from campus are matched with 10 skilled dancers and their goal is to make an entertaining dance that represents them well. Check out who can score perfect 10s this Friday.

4. 2nd Friday Norman Art Walk

Galleries, food trucks, shops and more. The 2nd Friday Norman Art Walk is a citywide celebration of art in which local artists, businesses and organizations bring forward their artistic talent. Not into art? There's still something for you to enjoy as Oklahoma’s favorite hip-hop artist, Jabee, will be performing. Although the Jabee performance is for Sooners 21 and up, many other artists will perform, including LTZ and Cooki Turner. You definitely don’t want to miss this artistic day.

5. Winter Wind concert featuring Eliza Gilkyson

Whether you’re celebrating this day with a loved one or you’re around friends who make you feel good, you’ll be spending your night with two-time Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Eliza Gilkyson. Gilkyson has won awards that include “Best Female Vocalist” and “Best Folk Artist” at the Austin Music Awards. On Valentine’s Day, she’ll be at The Depot in Norman singing the night away, and the only thing that is missing is you.
