As we all watched with bated breath for the results of the 2022 mid-term elections last week, two OU-Tulsa professors shared their expertise on the issues.

Dr. David Blatt and Professor Rodger Randle both served as political analysts for Tulsa television news stations – Blatt on KOTV Channel 6 and Randle on KTUL Channel 8.

Blatt serves as the George Kaiser Family Foundation Endowed Professor of Practice in the Master of Public Administration program, and Randle is human relations professor and director of the Center for Studies in Democracy and Culture.

News anchors turned to these two experts through the evening to analyze the races and discuss the impact of potential and real outcomes.

Blatt draws his expertise from his part in helping to found and serve as executive director of the Oklahoma Policy Institute for 10 years. The organization is a state think-tank that aims to expand opportunity for all Oklahomans through nonpartisan research, analysis and advocacy. He has conducted extensive research on a wide range of state policy issues, including the state budget and taxes, health care, poverty, consumer finance and education.

Randle served in the Oklahoma state Legislature starting in 1970 and was twice elected as President Pro Tempore of the State Senate. In 1988, he became mayor of the city of Tulsa, a role he served for two terms. He currently serves as the Honorary British Consul for Oklahoma in conjunction with his role as director of the Center for Studies in Democracy and Culture at OU-Tulsa.
