The fall semester has begun, and the OU-Tulsa campus is celebrating in style with a week of “magical” events.

“Magic in the Making” is the theme for this year’s Welcome Week in Tulsa, and the full slate of events lives up to the expectation.

The celebration is also a way for students to interact, meet some of the staff and faculty who are excited to welcome them to campus, and learn what they need to know to make their time at OU-Tulsa a success. The week is organized by OU-Tulsa Student Affairs.

“Our Student Affairs office is excited to welcome back students for the fall 2022 semester,” said Josh Davis, executive director of OU-Tulsa Student Affairs. “It is always so good to see students back on campus. We planned many fun opportunities for everyone to gather and get to know their fellow students, as well as to learn about ways they can get involved and services they can utilize during their academic journey. We are looking forward to a great semester.”

Students started the week with Popcorn & Post-Its, where they ate popcorn and picked up a specially filled back-to-school pack. They also learned how to balance academic and life stress with self-care practices during a Wellness 101 session.

The week also includes free snow cones and a discussion about the new public art on campus, check-ups for student laptops, yoga sessions, trivia, student organization training, and a movie on the Stuart Square lawn for students and their friends and families.

The OU-Tulsa Student Government Association leadership is part of Welcome Week planning and are ready to show students how they can get involved in leadership on their campus.

“As a student leader this year, I look forward to doing my part to make every student’s time at OU-Tulsa a success and full of wonderful memories,” says Nile McCullough, OU-Tulsa Student Government Association president. “Welcome Week events are a time for students to familiarize themselves with campus and to get excited about the upcoming semester. Campus leadership is working hard to make this academic year exceptional, and Welcome Week is certainly a high point and a great way to kick it off.”
