  Description:
    Abstract: This is a digital dataset for "Geologic map of the Woodward 2-degree sheet, Alfalfa, Blaine, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Grant, Kingfisher, Major, Roger Mills, Woods, and Woodward Counties, Oklahoma" in GeMS format.
    Purpose: The move toward seamless statewide coverage, the need for smaller scale maps that rectify stratigraphic and structural inconsistencies and reconcile discrepancies between adjacent maps, particularly with boarding states, becomes more important. On the 1:250,000-scale maps we will begin simplifying and finalizing the state stratigraphy, which will also lay the groundwork for a new 1:500,000-scale state-wide geologic map.
    Supplemental_Information: Woodward2-DegreeGeMS.gdb is a composite geodataset that conforms to GeMS. Metadata records associated with each element within the geodataset contain more detailed descriptions of their purposes, constituent entities, and attributes. Two shapefile versions of the dataset are also available. The OPEN shapefile version consists of shapefiles, DBF files, and delimited text files and retains all information in the native geodatabase, but some programming will likely be necessary to assemble these components into usable formats. The SIMPLE shapefile version consists only of shapefiles and is easily used, but lacks some information present in the native geodatabase.

  Attribute_Accuracy:
    Attribute_Accuracy_Report: Attribute field names were based on GeMS. IdentityConfidence and ExistenceConfidence fields are used to accurately rate certainty of identity and existence of the features mapped. For example, an identity of a boundary may be questionable, but not its existence. Attribute values were carefully checked to accurately represent the features they represent. These were checked against visual inspection, source map materials, and consultation. GeMS-based attributes are complete and there are no schema errors and no content errors, as validated by the GeMS "Validate Database" tool (https://github.com/usgs/GeMS_Tools/).
  Logical_Consistency_Report: Topology is consistent with the requirements specified in GeMS, including the following rules and additional rules. ContactsAndFaults must not overlap, self-intersect, self-overlap, have pseudo nodes, or dangles, and must be single part. MapUnitPolys must not overlap, have gaps, and boundary must be covered by ContactsAndFaults.
  Completeness_Report: Dataset was checked against the original paper publication to ensure that all geologic features are included and represented at the appropriate scale.

    Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy:
      Horizontal_Positional_Accuracy_Report: Positional accuracy of measurable features is given based on LocationConfidenceMeters attribute as specified in GeMS. This attribute represents a combination of the positioning error of a known point relative to the base map and the uncertainty in location of a geologic feature relative to that known point. The values is a relative value given in meters.
