The undergraduate program in Construction Science is accredited by American Council for Construction Education since 1990
Welcome to the University of Oklahoma’s Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science Division. We are pleased that you are considering joining our exceptional construction science program. The construction industry is a challenging and rapidly evolving industry. The management of construction has changed and expanded dramatically over the past decade with the constructor being asked to manage the entire building process, from design through construction, in many instances. These changes have resulted in increased responsibilities and obligations for the constructor. Developing, organizing and managing a successful team of the various design and building disciplines requires technical, communication and teamwork skills. One of our primary goals is to provide students with the education to be leaders in this rapidly changing construction industry.
The Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science Division is housed in the College of Architecture. Being in the College of Architecture provides our program unique opportunities to collaborate with most of the major disciplines involved in the design and construction process. We are one of a few colleges in the nation that house Architecture, Construction Science, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture and Regional & City Planning. Having five of the major disciplines in the design and building process along with exceptional industry support allows us to further develop the technological, communication and teamwork skills required to successfully build projects that meet societal needs while also protecting our environment. We are extremely proud of our program and the fact that we provide our students with a relevant and applied educational experience that prepares them to be leaders in the construction industry.
