Norman is a classic college town, with a thriving local music scene and boutique shopping on Campus Corner, a historic district within walking distance of campus. Norman is filled with local, independent cafes and places to meet with friends or sit and study. Norman is also called “the city of festivals,” with over 25 each year including the Medieval Fair, Norman Music Festival, Jazz in June and the Festival of the Arts.

In historic downtown Norman you can eat at quaint cafes, shop in stylish and vintage boutiques, and enjoy the arts and entertainment.

.Students can take a quick, 30-minute drive up I-35 to Oklahoma City, a major metropolitan area. Oklahoma City provides students with exciting entertainment options like Bricktown, the Oklahoma River and NBA action at the Thunderdome. For adventure-seekers and outdoorsy types, the city offers a range of options such as the Boathouse District and the brand new, 80-foot-tall Sandridge Sky Trail, which is the tallest adventure course of its kind in the world and features a zip line and a free-fall base jump experience, among other activities. Oklahoma City also provides a great job market for internships and full-time positions. In fact, USA Today named Oklahoma City one of the top three best cities in the country for millennial college students in 2015.
