Traveling to Norman

Norman, the third-largest city in Oklahoma, is just a 20-minute drive from Oklahoma City, our state's capital and a major metropolitan area. Just like our local campus community, Norman provides students with the best of both worlds through a close-knit community and big-city resources.

Travel Information

Driving Directions

  • From I-35, take the Main St./Eastbound exit.
  • On Main Street, continue approximately two miles to University Boulevard and then turn right.
  • Continue on University Boulevard until you cross Boyd Street, where you will enter between the brick arches of Parrington Oval.

Parking

While visitor parking is available on the Parrington Oval, visitor parking spaces are only designated with a green "visitor" curb. Parking along white or blue curbs on the Parrington Oval will result in a fine from OU's Parking Services.

Additional parking is available in:

  • the visitor lot west of Boyd House on Boyd Street.
  • the commuter lot behind Boyd House off University Boulevard.

All spaces require a visitor parking permit, which is valid for the entire day. Visitor parking permits can be purchased online or in person at the Parking Office located in the Jenkins Avenue parking facility. All visitors are required to abide by properly signed or marked parking restrictions.

Buses

Buses may not enter Parrington Oval. Visit our Group Tour web page to learn where to park and to pick up and drop off students. For additional group instructions or questions, contact the Office of Admissions and Recruitment at (405) 325-2151.
