Our mission is to help Gallogly & Mewbourne students learn and practice the skills they will need to be effective and ethical leaders now and throughout their careers
The Jerry Holmes Leadership Program for Engineers and Scientists (JHLP) provides leadership education for students in the Gallogly College of Engineering and the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy. Through JHLP’s pillar-based approach, students enhance their capabilities across five domains: personal development, interpersonal relationships, management and teamwork, leadership, and intercultural competence. JHLP provides a varies of leadership development opportunities including Distinguished Speaker days, workshops, courses, and networking events. Students have the option to further development their leadership capabilities as Holmes Leadership Associates (HLAs). HLAs work with professional mentors to design a personal leadership development plan. They attend monthly topical meetings and other events where they hone their leadership skills, and they create real impact as leaders within the university and surrounding communities.
