The National Merit Awards are the top merit-based scholarship awarded at the University of Oklahoma.  To be eligible for this award, students will need to take the PSAT or NMSQT during their junior year in high school.  The National Merit Selection Committee (NMSC), a non-OU entity, will look at their Selection Index Score to determine if the student is a Semifinalist.  These students will be notified of their Semifinalist standing in early to mid September of their senior year in high school.  The NMSC will also notify their high school and give them information on how that student may become a National Merit Finalist.

National Merit Award Packages and details can vary from year to year, so please visit the OU Honors College Scholarship Page for up to date information.

Please note, National Merit Scholars are not typically eligible for additional scholarship awards through the Gallogly College of Engineering during their first year.  However, National Merit Scholars are eligible and considered for engineering scholarships in subsequent years and are encouraged to apply annually through CASH.

This scholarship is offered to incoming freshman students who are interested in using computer science to build Tribal Nations.
