Research and Facilities
The Pavement Materials and Systems Group (PMSG) has a wide range of technical capabilities and facilities for laboratory characterization and performance testing and modelling. Characterization and testing of pavement materials, primarily asphalt and soil are conducted in the following laboratories:
- Ray C. Broce Pavement Materials Laboratory
- Asphalt Binders Laboratory
Ray C. Broce Pavement Materials Laboratory, generally called Broce Lab, houses major facilities for testing of aggregates, soils and asphalt mixes.
Asphalt Binders Laboratory houses facilities for mechanistic characterization of binders, modifiers and aggregates.
