7 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 | Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall, in the Catlett Music Center, 500 W. Boyd St, Norman | Candidates please arrive by 6:15 p.m.

Convocation is a formal ceremony for Gallogly College of Engineering Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy graduates and their guests. Degree candidates and graduates need to arrive by 6:15 p.m. to line up for the processional. Each graduate is recognized and photographed with the Dean as his/her name is announced. Graduates must wear cap and gown.

Parking is limited. The Catlett Music Center parking garage will be available. For other options, visit the University Parking Map. Please allow plenty of time for parking.

Registration and Information

All graduates participating in Fall Convocation must wear their cap and gown.

Beginning October 3, information will be available to pick up in WSSC or at Graduation Gear Up (taking place Sept. 26-28, in OMU's Beaird Lounge). This information includes a Gallogly College of Engineering Convocation Invitation, and Convocation Info sheets.

Everything you need to make the transition from student to graduate!

You may:

  • purchase your cap and gown
  • order your graduation announcements
  • order your official OU class ring
  • have your senior portrait taken
  • order yourSooner yearbook
  • learn about your new role as an OU graduate

Family, friends and guests are invited to the Fall Convocation. No tickets are required. Guests should enter the Catlett Music Center's EAST Entrance. We will have Ushers available to guide you to Sharp Hall.

All graduates and guests are invited to attend a reception in the Gothic Hall, located in Catlett Music Center, following the Convocation Ceremony.


Professional photographs will be taken of each graduate as he/she is introduced. Individual photos will also be taken. This service is provided at no charge to the graduate. A complimentary color proof will be mailed to you after Convocation. There will be no additional solicitation.

Fall 2018 graduates are encouraged to participate in the full Commencement and Convocation events in May 2018. Watch for times and locations to be posted on the OU Commencement website. Please check your OU e-mail account in March as you will receive an e-mail regarding registration for Spring Convocation 2018.

Approximately fifteen weeks after your final semester, the Office of Admissions and Records will mail diplomas to degree candidates who have been cleared for graduation. All tuition and fees must be paid to the University or a hold will be placed on your diploma. It is the responsibility of the student to contact the Office of Admissions and Records to request your diploma once the fees have been paid.

Requests for transcripts must be made in writing to the Office of Admissions and Records ten weeks after the semester has ended. There is no charge for official transcripts.
