The Toolbar

The most important tool on the Netscape Toolbar is the Back Button. Located on the upper left-hand corner of the Netscape Browser. The Back Button will sequentially step back through the URL (uniform resource location) path your have traveled. Use your Back Button when there is no return link.

The Back Button can look different. You change this by selecting Edit, then selecting Preferences (figure 6.1). In this dialog box select the Appearance panel. You can choose from Pictures (figure 6.2), Text (figure 6.3), or Pictures and Text (figure 6.4).

Also, from this dialog box you can set which web page loads first when you open your Internet browser. Navigator can begin with a blank page, with the last page that you browsed in the previous session with Navigator, or with any page you choose, either from the Web or your hard disk. To choose the startup page:

1.Choose Edit > Preferences

2.Click the Navigator panel
3.In the "Navigator starts with" section choose Blank Page, Home Page, or Last Page Visited.
4.If you chose Home Page, in the Home Page section click either Use Current Page, type the desired home page’s URL (Internet address) in the Location field, or click Browse to choose an HTML file from your hard disk.

5.Click OK to close the Navigator preference dialog box.
