Using Fetch

  1. Make sure all the files you intend to upload are located in the same folder or location on a local disk.
  2.  This is the Fetch icon. Find this icon on your computer and double click to start the program.

 
  1. A "New Connection" window like the one to the right appears.
  2. At Host, type students.ou.edu
  3. At User ID, type your OU User ID. This is the first four letters of your last name and the last four digits of your student ID or social security number.
  4. At Password, type your OU Account Password.This is the same password you use with your OU e-mail account.
  5. At Directory, be sure the field is blank. Delete any text that is displayed.
  6. Click OK or press the Return Key.

  1. A window similiar to the one below should appear. This window displays the folders and files on located on your OU student web space. This window is also used to place files from your disk onto your web site.
  2. Click on the Put File... button.

  1. After clicking on Put File..., a window similar to the one at the right appears. Navigate through this window to locate the file(s) on your disk that you wish to transfer to the server.
  2. Double click on the file you want to upload. A "Put File" window appears showing the name of the file you selected.

  1. Select Text from the "Format" pop-up menu for html files. These files have the extension .html or .htm. Click on OK.

  1. Select Raw Data from the "Format" pop-up menu for images. These files have the extension .jpg or .gif. Click on OK.
