Student Organizations

The University of Oklahoma has a wide range of student organizations that may be of interest to College of International Studies students, from Phi Beta Delta and Model UN right here in the College, to international student organizations. We have put together a guide of internationally oriented organizations below.

Are you involved with an organization that you'd like us to add to our page? Email Maura McAndrew at mmcandrew@ou.edu.

International Studies Organizations

Phi Beta Delta

Phi Beta Delta is an association that aims to recognize scholarly achievement in international education. Membership is open to all who qualify as an OU upper-classman or graduate student.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations imitates the work of the UN and aims to gain a deeper understanding of the work they do in the world. One of MUN'S main tasks is to analyze the work that the UN does and try to simulate innovative ways such a large organization could become even more effective. MUN meets once a week on Mondays and hosts special events throughout the year. Each year, the group travles to their annual Midwest MUN Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, where they participate in debates and mock crisis-solving for three days with delegates from other universities. Model UN is open to all students, regardless of major or experience.

Other International Organizations

OU Cousins

Through OU Cousins, students are matched according to hobbies, majors, and countries of special interest. Each international or exchange student is matched with one or two American students and invited to participate in monthly programs that are free of charge. In addition, students are encouraged to get together outside of official Cousins events and share their respective cultures with one another through normal daily life.
