Lexi Walton admittedly applied to the MLIS program at OU because she thought her love of reading, introversion, and organizational skills made her the perfect candidate to be a librarian.
As a December 2023 graduate, she is extremely grateful for her time in the program - the SLIS department challenged her to reconsider library stereotypes and think broadly about education, information, and herself. With a background in the sciences, she hopes to use her LIS degree to secure a position where she can help college students learn to enjoy research and writing as much as she does.
Lexi has been an asset to the program in a myriad of ways including serving as the OLISSA secretary, the SLIS Graduate Student Senate Representative, and the chair of Ways and Means within the Senate.
