Profile:
Emilio Sanchez Mendoza is originally from Eastern Honduras in Central America. He first came to the United States as an undergraduate exchange student at Shawnee State University. He also attended graduate school at Southern Illinois University Carbondale where he obtained a double concentration M.A in Foreign Languages and Literatures (Spanish) and TESOL. Emilio has taught Spanish language courses at the elementary, middle school, and undergraduate college level in Illinois and Texas. He has also worked as an English as a Foreign Language teacher in Honduras both in primary and secondary education. Emilio’s academic interests include SLA, Spanish as a Heritage Language in the US, and lexical fluency in bilinguals.
