MGSA Awards
The MGSA Awards were established in 2009, using Math Department Development funds. The awards are made by the Mathematics Graduate Students Association.
The Mentor Award recognizes a Mathematics graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding mentorship of their peers and/or to undergraduate Mathematics majors and minors.
The Citizen Award recognizes a Mathematics graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding departmental citizenship in service to their peers and/or to undergraduate Mathematics majors and minors.
Mentor Award
Ryan is a graduate student in mathematics at the University of Oklahoma. He is currently interested in representation theory, combinatorics, and category theory, and is studying under Jon Kujawa.
Previously, Ryan completed his undergraduate degree in pure mathematics from the University of California-Davis where he completed his senior thesis, Rigged Configurations and Catalan Object: Completing a Commutative Diagram with Dyck Paths and Rooted Planar Trees.
Ryan currently lives in Norman, OK with his wife and two sons.
