Kay Blunck's Bio

Kay Blunck has worked at the Carl Albert Center since 2001. She also works for World Literature Today where she maintains financial records, processes invoices and prepares monthly financial reports for both departments.

Kay studied early childhood education at OU before leaving to raise her two young sons. Before coming to the center, Kay worked several years in the university’s financial support services office and at the Sam Noble Museum.

Kay currently serves on the OU Staff Week committee and won the George Lynn Cross Superior Performance award in 2019. In 2011, Kay and former employee Laurie McReynolds started the Monnet Hall bicycle drive to support the University’s “Fill the Trolley” event for the Cleveland County Christmas Store. After Laurie’s passing, she renamed the bike drive to the Laurie McReynolds Annual Bicycle Drive, which has contributed 140 bicycles and helmets to date.

Kay enjoys traveling with her husband, David, of 30 years, spending time with her sons, Devin and Samuel, and reading and cuddling with her dachshund, Winnie.
