The University of Oklahoma is dedicated to providing academically gifted students with the resources and opportunities to develop their intellectual ability to the fullest. At OU, you will experience the benefits of a large university focused on undergraduate research and experiential learning, combined with a unique sense of community focused on your personalized success. OU is the only university in the nation, public or private, whose students have won Goldwater, Mitchell, Truman, Rhodes, Marshall, Fulbright, and National Security Education Program scholarships in the same year.
Students in the Honors College will have access to more research experiences and support, smaller class sizes, top-tier faculty members, additional support and academic resources, preparation for prestigious scholarships and post-graduate programs, and more.
National Merit Scholars are an integral part of OU's commitment to academic excellence and research. During their time on campus, our scholars will receive the best possible educational experience through excellence in teaching, research and creative activity, and service to the state and society.
OU offers a variety of scholarships for admitted incoming freshmen. These university-centralized freshman scholarships are automatically awarded if you apply by the deadline and meet the specific criteria.
