National Merit Finalist Scholarship

While OU's National Merit Scholarship is a robust financial package, it will not cover all expenses. However, if you receive outside scholarships, those cash awards may reduce your out-of-pocket expenses. In addition to our National Merit scholarship, students may also "stack" cash awards or federal financial aid that they receive. Institutional scholarships, combined with other federal, state and/or institutional aid, should not exceed the published Cost of Attendance.

Non-resident Scholarship

Review OU’s direct cost estimates to compare the National Merit scholarship to the anticipated expenses of attending OU. OU’s National Merit scholarship includes a tuition waiver for five years that may be used to study abroad.

OU’s National Merit Scholarship enables students to dedicate more focus toward their academics with a tuition waiver that extends to five years and can even be used toward graduate/professional programs after completion of an undergraduate degree.

While at OU, National Merit Scholars develop a strong community and participate in various opportunities together such as our National Merit First-Year Experience events to connect with other scholars and develop a sense of belonging.

National Merit Scholars who choose to apply for the Honors College and are admitted will have access to more research experiences and support, smaller class sizes, top-tier faculty, additional academic resources, preparation for prestigious scholarships and post-graduate programs, and more. As OU National Merit Scholars, students can use their OU scholarship to study abroad at one of our numerous partner universities worldwide.
