Incoming Transfer

Congratulations on your admission and welcome to the OU family!

Below you'll find your next steps to complete prior to beginning classes at OU. All available checklist items are available in your OU Bound portal.

OU Bound Portal

#1 Set Up Your OU Account & Email

Visit one.ou.edu/activate. You'll need your OU Net ID (usually 4 letters and 4 numbers) to create your account. Take a moment to write this ID down along with the password that you set up. You'll use these to access and complete your post-admission checklist!

This OU account will follow you through your time at OU and will also provide access to OU resources such as enrollment, grades, course materials, computer labs, OU Libraries resources, and more. This OU account is also what you’ll use to sign in to your official OU email at outlook.office.com/ou.edu. If you need assistance, please call OU IT at (405) 325-4357.

#2 Log in to OU Bound

Visit oubound.ou.edu to log in to OU Bound, our post-admission checklist portal. You’ll use the OU account you set up in step #1 to log in. Your post-admission checklist is outlined in OU Bound with information on how to complete each step.

As a transfer student, you will be advised through your individual college. To set up your advising appointment, click on the button to schedule online. If you need additional assistance scheduling your advising appointment please contact your college using the information below.

Annually more than two out of three OU students are awarded some type of financial assistance. This aid is a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, work-study and tuition waivers. To ensure that you keep all of your options open for covering your cost to attend OU, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For more detailed information, visit ou.edu/sfc.

Housing options are available through our OU Housing and Food Services. Many transfer students enjoy living in our new ivy-league style residential colleges or in our campus apartments, Traditions Square. Depending on your age and credit hours you may be required to live in on-campus housing. Visit ou.edu/housingandfood to learn about on-campus housing.

Transfer students who have at least 24 hours of college credit from an accredited institution after graduating from high school are exempt from living on campus (concurrent, dual credit, advanced placement or CLEP hours do not apply to this 24 hour requirement).

Visit outlook.office.com/ou.edu to check your OU email. Many OU departments will only communicate with you via this email address, so it is important that you check it regularly. This is where you will be notified about financial aid and housing.

All OU students are required to successfully complete the mandatory online trainings listed at onpoint.ou.edu. Learn more at ou.edu/eoo

Math, English, and Reading Assessments may be required for transfer students and are offered at no cost. Visit the Academic Advising website for additional information.

Mark your calendar for OU’s Camp Crimson experience on August 14-18, 2024! Camp Crimson is OU’s official welcome for all incoming fall students. You will have five days of connecting with other new students, learning about OU’s history and traditions, and getting to know campus!

Beginning May 1, let us know you’ll be at Camp Crimson by logging into OU Bound and RSVP’ing. While Camp Crimson is highly encouraged for incoming transfer students, it is not required. The Camp Crimson sign up window will be open from May 1 – July 1, 2024.

Costs will be billed to your Bursar account. The fee is $350.

To learn more, visit ou.edu/campcrimson.

You must submit a Certification of Compliance that states you are aware of the state of Oklahoma’s immunization requirements, which are outlined in the Certification. Complete this at immunization.ou.edu.

Your Sooner Card serves as your student ID and can be used to dine at OU restaurants with your meal plan, access the Sarkeys Fitness Center, check out books from the Bizzell Memorial Library, and more. To upload a photo to be used on your Sooner Card, please download and log into the Transact App with your OU Net ID and password and upload your photo on the app. After we have reviewed and accepted your photo, you’ll be able to access your Sooner Card.

Submit your final high school transcript to fulfill foreign language requirements and/or if you're filing the FAFSA.

Optional

The items listed below are not mandatory to complete prior to becoming a Sooner, however, we encourage you to review the list as some items may be of interest to you:

Through OU's Honors College, you can enroll in courses taught by nationally acclaimed faculty. Classes are limited to fewer than 22 students, and honors students participate in undergraduate research opportunities, study aboard and excel in this supportive community. For admission requirements and to apply, visit ou.edu/honors.

OU’s Bookstore is online, so students can get the right book at the right price! Visit Soonerbooks.com to learn how to order your textbooks and course materials.

If you live in student housing, you will need to purchase a parking permit. OU offers plenty of parking spaces only a short walk to where you live. If you choose to live off campus, you may purchase a parking permit or park for free at the Lloyd Noble Center and shuttle to campus. View our shuttle times and routes.

The OU Student Health Plan offers full coverage for preventative care as well as free services at OU’s on-campus health clinic, Goddard Health Center. With affordable pricing, the OU Student Health Plan is less expensive than the marketplace and many employer plans so you can budget wisely for the school year. Learn more about OU’s Student Health Plan to find the right fit for you.

OU Athletics will notify incoming students via their OU email in August about purchasing student football and men's basketball season tickets. All other OU sports are free to attend for students. Just show up, show your official student ID, and support the Sooners! View complete information for student football and men's basketball season tickets at soonersports.com.

OU’s University Theatre program offers multiples performances throughout the year. Student Season Subscriptions go on sale starting in August, but individual student ticket purchases are available. Visit theatre.ou.edu for more information.
