Yes, the assessment is proctored with the help of an OU proctor. The online proctored assessment allows you to take your exam from the comfort of your home.

The assessment typically takes between one and a half to two hours to complete. You must complete the full assessment in one sitting, so prepare appropriately.
Yes! If you would like to reassess, you must spend 10 hours in the study modules between proctored assessments. Although 10 hours are the minimum required, very few test higher without completing the modules. The modules are designed to get you to the next level. If you receive a higher math offer than your math placement through the assessment, OU will honor your initial math offer.
Your math offer is only good for enrollment in the fall semester. After that, you must assess into the desired math class, unless you have the prerequisite for that course.
If you don’t have a math offer, it is likely we don’t have enough academic information to give you an accurate placement to encourage student success. You will need to complete the math assessment to make sure you take the correct math course once you get on campus. Make sure to submit all official ACT or SAT test scores to the university.
No, this is not taken into consideration with your math offer, however, you will receive math credit and be placed into the appropriate math course based on your official AP/IB scores. Once OU receives your official AP/IB scores, your academic advisor will place you in the appropriate math course, regardless of your initial math offer.

As long as you send us your official transcript, your math placement will reflect any math transfer credits from other universities or concurrent enrollment. It is very important you send OU your official transcript with any Concurrent Enrollment credit as soon as possible, so your academic advisor can place you in the appropriate math course, regardless of your initial math offer.
A math offer helps OU students find the correct math placement, which gives them the greatest chance of success at OU. The goal of the math offer is to make sure you thrive in a math course that is challenging, but not beyond your current abilities. You can review your math offer after you register for your New Sooner Orientation Day by logging in to your New Sooner Orientation registration confirmation page. Your academic advisor will go over your math offer during your New Sooner Orientation Day.
It is required to take your assessments prior to your scheduled NSO. If you do not complete assessments prior to NSO, you will not be able to be advised or enroll in courses. In that chance, you will be asked to reschedule your NSO if you do not assess up to three days prior or your appointment will be canceled for you.
